Burnaby

Burnaby is the city immediately to the east of the City of Vancouver, and is home to North America's only mountain top university, the largest retail and entertainment complex in British Columbia and outstanding sports and recreation facilities.

The Metrotown area, a 15-minute SkyTrain ride from downtown Vancouver, is where you'll find over 500 stores and an equally impressive entertainment complex, enough to keep even the most dedicated shopper (and the rest of the family) happy! And it’s just a short walk to Central Park, an immense urban forest, with wide pathways, pitch & putt golf, tennis courts and an outdoor pool. If you’re interested in outdoor recreation, don’t miss Deer Lake Park, Burnaby’s largest green space, which is also home to the beautiful Hart House Restaurant, and cultural attractions such as the Burnaby Village Museum & Carousel, the Shadbolt Centre for the Performing Arts, and Burnaby Art Gallery.

Burnaby's natural heritage is on display at the nearby Burnaby Lake Regional Nature Park or a little further north, along the trails that wind through the forest of Burnaby Mountain. The park offers well maintained walking trails, well suited for casual hikers and perfect for jogging fanatics.

Burnaby is home to plenty of accommodation options; you’ll find high-end hotels through to campgrounds, all of which offer easy access to activities in Burnaby.
