On June 3, the Westin Bayshore was awarded the Wildlife Friendly Habitat Certification by Canadian Wildlife Federation, an award that recognizes concerted efforts Canadians are taking to meet the habitat needs of wildlife. Venues that receive this award must meet specific criteria and established best practices, and show results that help local and migratory wildlife, including species at risk.

The certification plaque was presented by Kenneth Beattie, Horticulture Education Manager for the Canadian Wildlife Federation, who is quoted as saying “The Westin Bayshore is the first commercial property in the nation to receive this status and therefore is deserved of considerable recognition.”
