Tourism Vancouver’s president & CEO, Ty Speer, is the keynote speaker at the 2017 Tourism Symposium in Edinburgh, Scotland, taking place June 5th and 6th.

The Tourism Symposium’s 31 speakers will discuss global trends, challenges and opportunities facing the tourism and travel industries. Topics include: investing in future tourism leaders, capitalizing on innovation, and examining tourism’s implications on the economic future of heritage sites, from UK, EU and international perspectives.

Other distinguished speakers at the 2017 Tourism Symposium include Taleb Rifai, director general of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO); Anthony Pickles, head of Tourism Affairs, Visit Britain; Helen Campbell, head of Global Marketing, Visit Scotland; and Bob Palmer, former director of the Council of Europe.

Edinburgh and Vancouver were officially named “twin cities” in 1977.
