Two Tourism Vancouver alumni were acknowledged at the Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) annual convention in Montreal on July 12.


Rick Antonson, Tourism Vancouver’s president & CEO from 1993 to 2014, was one of 10 individuals inducted into the  DMAI Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was created in 2014 to honor individuals who have changed the future of the destination marketing for the better, made significant contributions to the advancement of the industry, and shaped travel marketing.


In addition, DMAI’s incoming board chair is Tourism Vancouver alumnus Tammy Blount (formerly Tammy Powers). Now CEO of the Monterey, California CVB, Tammy Blount was part of Tourism Vancouver’s leadership team for 11 years.  


DMAI is the world’s largest resource for destination marketing organizations. DMAI is dedicated to improving the effectiveness of DMOs though cutting-edge educational enrichment, resources, industry advocacy, research, and networking opportunities. Also, in exciting news, DMAI launched a rebrand at the annual conference in Montreal. They will now be known as Destinations International.
