Tourism Vancouver’s WeChat social media account in China has broken into the top 10 in terms of popularity of overseas destination marketing organization accounts.  WeChat is a Chinese social media application (instant messaging, commerce and payment services) released in 2011. WeChat has over 938 million active users, mainly in China.  This ranking of DMOs and PMOs was tracked by Dragon Trail, a China-focused digital marketing agency.

The results are for the week of June 19-25th.  The Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership is way out in front, but Tourism Vancouver is working to close the gap.
