Since its start in April 2012, Tourism Vancouver’s Energy Specialist Program has assisted many of our members with a range of energy consumption initiatives. Read on for a sampling of successes the program has achieved over the last four years.

Tourism Vancouver’s Energy Specialist Program has been led by Gwendal Castellan since April 2012. Initiated and initially sponsored by BC Hydro, the program has assisted a number of Tourism Vancouver members over the last four years. A few cumulative successes include:

•        $514,226 in incentives paid out by BC Hydro

•        $257,500 of utility cost savings to date

•        7.5 GWh of energy savings, enough to charge 1,581 Teslas for a year or power a 200-room hotel for 5.4 years

•        893 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions avoided, the equivalent of 36,506 propane cylinders used for home barbeques
