social procurement symposium and trade show

Tourism Vancouver is genuinely pleased to have been alongside SFU and the Vancouver Convention Centre to receive awards from Buy Social Canada and Exchange Inner City for demonstrating excellence in social procurement at the Social Procurement Symposium and Social Enterprise Trade Show.

Tourism Vancouver's Sustainable Destination Development Manager, Gwendal Castellan, participated on a panel of institutions and social enterprises that included Mission Possible and The Binner’s Project. The event that was created to bring awareness for Vancouver’s thriving social enterprise sector, share best practices in social procurement and recognize major local institutions who have implemented social procurement in their operations. Gwendal spoke to how Tourism Vancouver has been able to incorporate social enterprise procurement in its events, such as the Christmas Luncheon and Dine Out Vancouver. We have also been able to connect our members to new social procurement opportunities and they have in turn become champions - notably, the Vancouver Convention Centre, a fellow award recipient.

To learn more about these organizations as well as social procurement please feel free to connect with Gwendal Castallan.
