“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”  We are seeing some changes and want to let you in on the Hellos and Good-byes...

Notice of Promotion
Lori Janson, the Director of Destination Development, is pleased to announce that Lucas Pavan has been promoted to Manager of the Membership department. As Acting Manager for the past six months, Lucas has been instrumental in the membership review process and guiding the team as we develop a revised department structure.

The Membership department is excited by the opportunities as a result of the review and we want to thank all of you for your support of the Membership team the past few months. We are grateful for your understanding as we transition towards a bright future for the department and for our Members.

Notice of Retirement
Most of you know Maureen Fletcher, Tourism Vancouver’s long-time Receptionist, as the smiling face that greets everyone who enters our office, who has engaged everyone with her cheerful conversation and the warmth of a genuine welcome. When leaving the office, people were uplifted and had fresh pep to their step, all because of the positivity and joy radiating from our Maureen.

On December 23, Maureen will retire from Tourism Vancouver after having anchored the organization for more than 14 years. She is not only our receptionist, she’s our friend, our family, and an integral part of the company culture. She is often the first and last contact for our guests and clients, whether they call us or drop by – and without fail, she always ensures everyone instantly feels at home and is well taken care of. We will all miss Maureen’s sunny greetings when we enter the office in the mornings, and her affectionate goodbyes when we leave at the end of the day.

Sad as we are to see her go, we are so happy for Maureen, for the adventures she has planned in her retirement. Thank you, Maureen, for being a part of our team and a part of our lives – we are all better people because of it.
