CANADIAN ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVES TO HOST 2019 MEETING IN VANCOUVER
Tourism Vancouver and the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre are pleased to announce that the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) has selected Vancouver as host of their 2019 National Conference and Showcase.
The association is comprised of key decision makers from Canada’s not-for-profit associations, many of whom have the ability to bring their own meeting or convention to Vancouver in a future year. In 2016, meeting and convention business contributed $305 million in estimated direct visitor spending to the Vancouver economy.
The CSAE 2019 conference will take place from October 23 to 25 at the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel and the Vancouver Convention Centre. It is expected to attract 500 people from across Canada. Vancouver has hosted the CSAE conference twice before, in 2008 and in 1992.
“CSAE is very excited to be bringing its National Conference back to Vancouver after more than a decade,” said Michael Anderson, CSAE’s President and CEO. “The city is home to one of our largest regional networks and is a wonderful setting for the country’s association professionals to come together to learn, network and celebrate our success.”
Hosting CSAE in 2019 is a coup for Vancouver’s convention industry. It allows Vancouver partners to demonstrate to CSAE members how we could make their own association meeting a success. This event comes on the heels of other important meetings industry events Vancouver has hosted in recent years, including the MPI World Education Congress (2010), AMC Institute Accredited Forum (2015), PCMA Convening Leaders Conference (2016), and the upcoming ASAE Executive Leadership Forum (2017).
