Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2015 to contribute an estimated $35 million in direct spending to the local economy.
Last week, the Vancouver Convention Centre, Tourism Vancouver and 20 Vancouver and Richmond hotels welcomed more than 10,000 academics, scholars, and professionals in the scholarly management and organization space.
The 75th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management was held August 7-11, 2015, taking place at the Vancouver Convention Centre, utilizing both East and West buildings, and additional surrounding properties. The conference generated an estimated $35 million in direct spending to the local economy.
Vancouver last hosted Academy of Management in 1995, won the bid to host the 2015 meeting in 2010 and, in 2014, won the bid to host the 2020 Annual Meeting.
The Academy of Management is a leading professional association for scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations. Founded in 1936 by two professors, the Academy of Management is the oldest and largest scholarly management association in the world. Today, the Academy is the professional home for over 19,000 members from nearly 120 nations. The Academy of Management is located on the Briarcliff Manor, New York, Campus of Pace University.
Vancouver will host the 80th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management August 7-11, 2020.
