The start of a new year offers prime motivation to give back to causes you believe in. Throughout 2014, Tourism Vancouver put this into practice - and encouraged meeting professional clients to do the same - by engaging in various corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, key among them the #VanGiving campaign.
Introduced in 2014, #VanGiving encourages meeting professionals to take part in charitable initiatives at every opportunity. For example, in lieu of Christmas sales mission gifts, clients were given gift cards that they could donate to charities or organizations of their choice. #VanGiving also makes an appearance at major events, such as the Association Forum of Chicagoland's Annual Holiday Showcase, which was held in mid-December. As a CSR sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, Tourism Vancouver spearheaded a diaper drive for Childserv, a non-profit that helps Chicagoland's at-risk children and their families build and sustain better lives. During the event, participants were encouraged to snap photos of their donations so they could enter to win an all-inclusive trip to Vancouver.
