It was the Vancouver convention industry’s pleasure to host the 2018 AMC Institute’s Annual Meeting in February. With content about raising awareness, expertise and capabilities for those in the AMC community to networking with other association management professionals, we know you left with a renewed sense of purpose and perspective. For those that were not able to make the meeting in Vancouver, we created a list of the top five things we hope attendees learned about their host destination.

1. The city is thriving with innovation and opportunity. Vancouver cultivates brilliance and creativity, so it’s a perfect place to host the world’s foremost thinkers, visionaries and leaders. Your association will be in good company.

2. Inspiration can be found everywhere. You can take advantage of your surroundings by commuting on foot, especially since the Vancouver Convention Centre and 19 convention hotels are all so close together in walkable downtown Vancouver.

3. The Vancouver Convention Centre continues to be a beacon of inspiration and leadership. Besides the stunning views of forest, mountains, and ocean, the centre is always improving their facility from within. The Pan Pacific Hotel has a sleek, contemporary design, beautifully complemented by soothing Pacific West Coast accents.

4. The teamwork and collaboration among Vancouver’s hospitality partners, government, and community are at an all-time high. The service clients receive throughout the bid phase, through to sites and planning, is unprecedented within the industry.

5. We are really, really, really glad you came! We lit the 2010 Olympic cauldron and put that rainbow up just for you. Please come back soon and bring your association with you!
