Though the doors officially opened in late July, Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar is already the talk of the town. Located in central downtown's The Sutton Place Hotel - a favourite among convention delegates - the seafood-focused restaurant features a decadent oyster bar, craft cocktails and champagne, and classic dishes injected with local flavour and spunky delivery (case in point: the ahi tuna tartare is prepared tableside). While platings are an aesthetic delight, the sectioned dining areas are just as easy on the eyes with natural stone and Italian marble rubbing shoulders with refurbished antiques and white oak floors. Distinctive pockets of seating allow groups to opt for privacy (the separated vintage-style lounge can seat up to 40) or party (take seats at the well-stocked bar, chat up the locals and enjoy a bespoke cocktail by award-winning bartender Justin Taylor). Boulevard can also accommodate a full buyout for groups of up to 320. What's next for Chef Alex Chen and his team? A rooftop garden that will house herbs and produce while allowing for eco-friendly rainwater collection and composting.
