Dr. Gloria Gutman is a Professor Emerita in the SFU Gerontology Department and a Research Associate in the Gerontology Research Centre. She is also the Vice-President of the International Longevity Centre-Canada and is currently a member of INPEA’s Board of Directors in the position of Immediate Past President.

Recently, Dr. Gutman has been named to the Order of Canada. This highlights her leadership in the field of gerontology. As the recipient, she is recognized for her contributions to Canada and humanity and “outstanding talent and service.”

As a pioneer in the field of gerontology, her research interests involve addressing issues regarding environmental sustainability and diversity in the workplace as well as elder abuse.

The Be a Host team connected with Dr. Gutman in 2012 to successfully host the Canadian Association on Gerontology: Annual Scientific & Educational Meeting, which drew up to 750 people. With this experience, we are excited to announce that Dr. Gutman will play a role in hosting the 2018 Annual Fall Canadian National Convention here in Vancouver. We would like to congratulate Dr. Gloria Gutman for her continued success and look forward to welcoming the 2018 meeting to Vancouver.
