In 2015, the Be a Host team at Tourism Vancouver had the wonderful experience of working with Dr. Elner and colleagues in preparing the bid to host the 2018 International Ornithological Congress. This congress takes place every 4 years, rotating around the world, and is due to be held in Vancouver from August 19 – 26, 2018. We wish to applaud Dr. Elner for his excellence in research and look forward to working with him on the upcoming meeting.
