Conference attendees come from all backgrounds and walks of life, but it's not always possible for those from developing nations to attend international conferences. Recognizing this, the Human Proteome Organization World Congress (HUPO) 2015, taking place in Vancouver, has launched a program that encourages delegates from developed countries to support their fellows who require a financial boost. Through the "Adopt a Delegate" initiative, conference go-ers have the option of donating at their discretion during the online registration process. The donation is used to offset the costs for sponsored delegates' registration and accommodation, though they are responsible for their own return travel to the conference.
HUPO's goal for this innovative program is to provide opportunities for sponsored researchers and physicians to not only attend the 2015 conference in Vancouver, but also set up a network with colleagues around the world to further promote and garner assistance for their current and future research. Delegates who donate will also have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with their adoptees at HUPO 2015. For more information, contact email@example.com.
