Mix things up during your next meeting in Vancouver and treat your team to these exciting, memorable, and creative Canadian team building experiences. Whether you want to soak up the city's spectacular coastal landscape or give back to the community (or both!), here's a roundup of unique Vancouver activities, flannel and toque not required (but certainly recommended):

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

In 2018 alone, this conservation partnership by Ocean Wise and WWF-Canada, presented by Loblaw Companies Limited, has already collected over 23,000 kg of litter from Canadian shorelines, making this activity a great choice for teams looking to get out in Vancouver's fresh air while protecting shorelines and wildlife. Organize your own cleanup or join an existing one and take action as a team wherever the sea meets the city. A bonus? This activity is a fun way to achieve team goals, and is suitable for any group size and budget. Check out this year’s 25th Season Team Challenge.

Grouse Mountain

Only a 20-minute drive away from downtown Vancouver, Grouse's custom Mountain Team Building events offer diverse and active ways to connect with your team. Get out in the Canadian wilderness with the Alpine Adventure, where your team will explore the mountain via GPS and engage in leadership challenges along the way, promoting communication, problem-solving, and collaboration. In Mountain Rescue learn and practice search and rescue skills in an alpine environment from a team of experienced patrollers to explore strategies for team effectiveness in a high energy challenge. Other team activities include axe throwing, mountain zip-lining, snowshoeing, and much more. Full day, half day, or a two-hour add-on to a meeting or meal reservations are available.

Engagement Unlimited's Playschool Playscapes CSR

For teams focused on giving back to the community and corporate responsibility, Engagement Unlimited's Playschool Playscapes CSR activity promotes team building, networking, and community building in fun, creativity-filled activities. With the ultimate goal of creating playground mud-pie kitchens and buddy benches for daycare and school playgrounds in Vancouver, teams must work together to answer trivia questions (and win supplies!) to construct, decorate, and paint their masterpiece. Make sure to budget 1.5-2.5 hours for this creative activity. Perfect for groups of 40-300 people. Alternative activities include The Engaging Escape (an escape room that comes to you) and Capture U Scavenger Hunt.
(Group size: 40-300)

Sewell's Marina

Engage, reward, and strengthen your team with Sewell's corporate adventures, just a short drive from downtown Vancouver.  Explore Howe Sound's hidden coves, view spectacular wildlife, and even go on a sea scavenger hunt on self-drive or guided adventures.
(Group size: 4-280, depending on activity and size of boat)

Tall Order

Vancouver is a city full of foodies, so it makes sense to build team relationships in the kitchen. Tall Order, a culinary team building experience, allows teams to collaborate and explore through food, highlighting skills like team communication, trust, acceptance, and the power of self. With a variety of 3 hour programs—like the scenic Westcoast Kitchen Party where teams can baste a lamb on a spit, shuck oysters and make bread or the Iron Masters of Fettuccini where teams compete for the title of Master of Pasta—this experience is a recipe for team success.
