Christian Marclay: The Clock
Polygon Gallery
July 5, 2019 – September 15, 2019

This summer, the gallery space will be transformed into a custom-built cinema, showing a film that runs for 24-hours which also functions as a real timepiece. We are thrilled to be featuring an iconic work by Christian Marclay that has been called “a masterpiece of our times” and “sublime.” The Clock montages film and television footage from the last 70 years, intricately edited in both its visuals and sound. Thousands of film fragments come together collaged into a full day of modern life, mirroring the experiences of our lives and unraveling a narrative that feels as if it will continue on forever. In 2011, Christian Marclay won the coveted Gold Lion Award at the Venice Biennale for this now-famous artwork, recently presented at the Tate Modern, London.
