Vancouver Folk Music Festival is back to celebrate its 40th year in idyllic Jericho Beach Park. The four-day festival offers an impressive line-up of over 60 artists, including Canada’s own Barenaked Ladies, John K Samson, and Bob Bossin. Between sets you can wander through the Artisan Market and Folk Bazaar or grab a bite from the international food vendors, all with a view of the North Shore Mountains.

This year Japan (July 29), U.K. (August 2) and Canada (August 5) face-off in this popular fireworks competition at 10:00 PM each night, rain or shine. Make a day of it and head to Second Beach before the fireworks for the inaugural Celebration of Music festival to enjoy performances and food truck grub.
