As the third-largest foreign film and production centre in North America, it's no surprise that Vancouver is often referred to as "Hollywood North." You may have seen Vancouver grace the small and silver screen in recent productions like Deadpool 2, Skyscraper, Netflix's To All the Boys I've Loved Before, Riverdale, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Once Upon a Time, and much more.
But this year a familiar Hollywood face is treating Vancouverites and visitors to a guest stint on the city's public transit system, voicing service announcements. Seth Rogen, a Vancouver-born actor and writer (in fact, he wrote the film Superbad based on his experience at Vancouver's Point Grey Secondary in the 1990s) rolled out several announcements on Vancouver's Translink buses and metro system in early August 2018. Written by Rogen himself, the announcements serve to promote a better customer experience on transit.
