Parq Vancouver (39 Smithe St.) is set to open Fall 2017 with eight restaurants and lounges, 517 guest rooms and suites, a Spa by JW, fitness studio and more than 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Located in Vancouver's vibrant downtown entertainment district connected to BC Place and Rogers Arena, this opening will be a major contributor to the city's rich culinary and entertainment scene.
Parq Vancouver's impressive culinary lineup is the result of a five-year project by Blau + Associates' award-winning restaurateurs Elizabeth Blau and Chef Kim Canteenwalla. Much of the food and beverage portfolio draws on Pacific Northwest ingredients and incorporates Southeast Asian flavours.
“British Columbia’s natural resources are amazing–the ocean and forests are rife with ingredients to work with, and the temperate climate means everything is fresh and flavourful,” Blau says. “Vancouver is known globally as an amazing food city, and during my time here I’ve come to understand why.”
“This region is so multicultural–there are influences ranging from Chinese to Japanese to Indian and beyond,” Canteenwalla added, “Perhaps because multicultural cuisine is so accessible, diners here are incredibly adventurous. There is truly something for everyone here.”
Located on Parq's first floor, Honey Salt boasts locally sourced ingredients, regional beers and spirits, and food for any time of the day - from breakfast to afternoon tea, and everything in between.
With an exterior entrance from BC Place, Parq's casino floor restaurant BC Kitchen offers classic bar comfort foods with a local twist in a comfortable lounge-style restaurant (complete with a 24-hour pick-up window), great for any pre- or post-event night out.
Also located on the casino floor is MRKT East, an immersive dining experience inspired by Singaporean night markets, where guests can engage with the chefs as they create Southeast Asian favourites. Guests can also enjoy a selection of specialty coffees, pastries and bubble teas from the restaurant's coffee bar.
The Victor opens this winter on Parq's sixth-floor rooftop adjacent to a 30,000 square-feet park, serving classic Alberta sourced steak and Pacific Northwest seafood with elegant cocktails, all with a view of Vancouver's False Creek.
Celebrating the first emergence of Vancouver's Chinatown, 1886 serves elegant Cantonese cuisine, also drawing on Szechuan, Hunan and Shanghainese flavours for dinner, dim sum and late-night dining.
With a full view of the bustling gaming floor, guests at Centre Bar can enjoy signature cocktails, premium spirits and wine by the glass underneath the bar's elegant glass chandelier.
D/6 Bar & Lounge, also located on the sixth-floor rooftop adjacent to the park and in the DOUGLAS, an Autograph Collection Hotel's lobby, serves handcrafted cocktails and small plates in an inviting space featuring bookcases, a pool table and fireplace.
The Lotus Whiskey & Tea Lounge serves an extensive selection of high-qualities teas during the day and whiskeys, scotch, cognac and bourbon during the evening on the high limit gaming floor.
