There’s a new three-day running event on Vancouver’s calendar. The first annual Vancouver Running Festival will take place Friday, October 20th to Sunday, October 22nd. The new event will combine three races (5K, 10K and 21.1K) with daily festivals featuring local businesses, artisans, musicians, eateries, wineries and craft breweries.
The weekend event kicks off on Friday (October 20) with an evening 5K and after-party. Saturday (October 21) will mark the 47th running of the 10-kilometre James Cunningham Seawall Race around Stanley Park. This event also finishes with music, food and drink in Devonian Harbour Park in Coal Harbour.
On Sunday, the Granville Half Marathon (21.1K) will wind through the city and around Stanley Park before finishing with the same great festivities as the previous two events.
The event is being put on with the support of the Lions Gate Road Runners and organizers are committed to supporting and showcasing local running history, local events, clubs, volunteers, businesses, artists, and landmarks that make Vancouver a uniquely awesome place to live and run.
