Calling all fashionistas! You all know the Hermès "Birkin" bag is one of the most coveted luxury bags in the world and now you can see the lust-worthy “Birkin,” among other iconic Hermès objects come to life before your eyes at the "Hermès at Work" exhibition in Vancouver.
From September 21-25, Hermès will feature a 5,000-square-foot-glass-walled enclosure at Jack Poole Plaza where visitors can watch Hermès artisans work their magic crafting fine objects. Nine trades will be showcased, including silk printing, saddle-making, gem setting, silk engraving, silk rolling, watchmaking, porcelain hand-painting, glove-making, and leatherwork.
See the classic design printed on Hermès’ famous, status-symbol silk scarves, revered by such fashion icons as Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O. Watch Hermès leather artisans craft the “Kelly” bag from start to finish. And learn about the history, traditions, and values behind Hermès from the craftspeople themselves.
"Hermès at Work" has toured 34 global cities in 18 countries with Vancouver the 35th stop.
The event is free and open to the public, and will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., September 21-25 at Jack Poole Plaza.
