In October 2017 Vancouver's largest sightseeing operator, WESTCOAST Sightseeing, announced they will be acquiring and operating over 80 zero-emission electric buses in partnership with BYD. The delivery of the new zero-emission fleet is expected in early 2018, and WESTCOAST plans to replace the rest of its fleet over the next five years. With a fully operational zero-emission fleet, WESTCOAST expects they will reduce approximately 2,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year.

Operating on BYD's "New Energy" line of silent running buses, which utilize clean iron-phosphate battery technology and can reach up to 300km on a single five-hour charge, WESTCOAST will operate its new fleet on daily tours of Vancouver, Whistler, and Victoria. For more information visit:
