The team behind acclaimed Vancouver restaurant L’Abattoir has recently launched a new space. Tucked away in a 19th-century brick-and-beam heritage building behind Vancouver’s famed L’Abattoir restaurant, the intimate and innovative No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews, is an exclusive and interactive dining experience offered to just eight guests, one evening each month.

The brainchild of L’Abattoir co-owners, chef Lee Cooper and restaurateur Paul Grunberg, No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews is the first of its kind in Vancouver.  This restaurant-within-a-restaurant concept offers the eight guests an opportunity take part in an interactive 10-course experience, which features Cooper’s signature brand of French-via-West Coast cuisine, and wine pairings handpicked by L’Abattoir Wine Director and Vancouver magazine's 2017 Sommelier of the Year, Lisa Haley.

No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews offers an unforgettable dining experience from beginning to end — from an elegant welcome package mailed in advance, fine crystal glassware and table settings, to custom décor and keepsake gifts.

But if you want to snag one of the prized eight seats, you'll need to plan ahead. Tickets to the first four dinners sold out in minutes, though tickets for the remaining three 2017 dinners will be released on the first day of the month, two months prior to each event — tickets for the September 29 event will be released July 1, the October 27 event on August 1 and November 24 event tickets on September 1. Ticket prices vary (based on the food and wine being served) but are approximately $275 CAD per person, all inclusive.
