All drinks are made fresh to order - after you order it, never before - from a rotating menu of their favourite coffees from world class roasters around North America. They have been voted best coffee in Vancouver several times.

Nelson the Seagull
315 Carrall Street

Two of the owners, brother and sister, Jonathan and Lee Snelgar, grew up in South Africa, and have always regarded Nelson Mandela an icon of morality, the café was named after him. This cozy corner of Gastown will bring delicious coffee, incredible house-made bread, and an open atmosphere frequented by freelancers, creatives, and anyone looking for a delicious avocado-toast fix.

Prado Café
100 W. Hastings Street

As a four-time Canadian Barista Champion, first ever winner of World Latte Art Championship, winner at the Coffee Fest Latte Art Championship, and four-time top-three placement for Canada at the World Barista Championships, Owner Sam Piccolo’s passion is evident. Sammy has made every effort to bring an enhanced coffee experience to Vancouver, continually using his award-winning coffee art skills to create the perfect cup of coffee through his well-honed grind and extraction process.

The Birds & The Beets
55 Powell Street

Serving up locally roasted coffee by 49th Parallel, The Birds & The Beets is cozy corner to spend a couple of hours. The abundance of greenery throughout the space, especially with the mini-floral shop at the window, and the smell of freshly baked bread, immediately welcome you.

Nemesis Coffee
302 W Hastings Street

New to the neighbourhood is Nemesis coffee. Opened in early 2017, not only do they offer top-notch coffee, but they also have an artistic selection of snacks to go along with your order. For example, their to-stay mochas are served with shortbread with chocolate hazelnut spread and marshmallows toasted right in front of you. Their enormous chocolate chip cookie also sits high on our list of favourite treats…

EastVan Roasters
319 Carrall Street

Ideal for coffee and chocolate lovers is this 16-seat specialty cafe and social enterprise. As a part of the PHS Community Services Society this shop designed to provide pre-employment training and work opportunity for the women residents of the Rainier Hotel. East Van Roasters creates organic ‘bean to bar’ chocolate and coffee roasted and prepared on site.
