Call it the Year of Broadway Blockbusters – the 2017/18 theatre season at Queen Elizabeth Theatre is jam-packed with globally renowned productions.

First up: The Phantom of the Opera (July 11 – 23), one of the largest shows currently on tour with a cast and orchestra totaling 52 bodies. The intense, brooding spectacle about the deformed Phantom who falls in love with an obscure chorus singer features vibrant costumes and brand-new choreography, staging and design. Then, the hills come alive when The Sound of Music arrives in early autumn (September 12 – 17), bringing to the stage the delightfully whimsical show set in Salzburg, Austria that still holds the record as the most successful movie musical in history. Make sure to brush up on your Frankie Valli for Jersey Boys, the triple-threat Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning musical about rock ‘n roll hall of famers The Four Seasons whose rise to success was not without sacrifice. In 2018, Motown the Musical storms the stage (February 6 – 11) with a heartwarming story about Motown’s founder Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and other musical superstars.
