Candlelight and Music- A contemplative hour featuring candlelight, prayer, guest singers and instrumentalists. This is the 3rd year for this Sunday evening service. Much to our delight, it has proven to be very popular with everyone, especially young people. Opened in 1933 and a designated Heritage site since 1974, St. Andrew's-Wesley is an important landmark for its beauty. It's 14th century gothic architecture and cathedral like setting make it a top tourist attraction and a favorite for Hollywood movie sets.
The church has been featured in over 20 movies and TV series including X-Men 2, X Files and Battlestar Galactica.
The church is also a destination church for weddings, and a favorite venue for concerts, lectures, and mini conventions.
This Christian church is committed to celebrating the diversity found in the family of God, inclusive of races, religions, ethnicities, genders and sexual orientations (LGBTQ). Central themes are kindness, social justice and peace.
The Nave, with its 34 stained, etched and faceted windows designed by international artists pay tribute to the glory of God. Internationally renowned organist, Darryl Nixon, celebrates 34 years of music ministry at St. Andrew's Wesley and performs on a 60 stop 3000 pipe Canadian-built Casavant organ.
