Singer and Performing artist, Founder and Director of Victory Arts Foundation (a not for profit organisation that uses dance as therapy to empower individuals with special needs), Shiamak Davar is known as the Guru of Contemporary dance in India. He is responsible for modernizing India’s dance scene especially in the film and theatre industry, and is respected for his ever evolving and very popular “Shiamak Style” of dance.
Shiamak has shared the stage with international artists such as Sting, Bryan Adams and Eddie Grant. Shiamak is the Founder and Artistic Director of the world’s largest dance education movement which has enriched the lives of over a million dance enthusiasts across India, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirate and United Kingdom. With the motto, Have Feet. Will Dance.™, Shiamak continues to spread the joy of dance across the world.
Shiamak’s dance team in Vancouver has performed at various events like the Opening Ceremony of the World Police and Fire Games at Rogers Arena, The Celebration ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics, The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, Multicultural and ethnic Community Events, We Day at the Rogers Arena, as well as the most recent Times of India Film Awards IN 2016 at B.C Place.
Shiamak founded The Victory Arts Foundation (VAF) in 2004. A non-for profit foundation, VAF is committed to making dance a meaningful experience for all with the aim of bringing the joy of dance to people with special needs as well as individuals that may be underprivileged. Through VICTORY, SHIAMAK instructors teach dance as therapy programs to youth and children with special needs at North Shore Connexions Society, Lord Byng Secondary School, Arcus Community Resources, Down Syndrome Research Foundation(Canada), North Vancouver Elementary School District Board.
