On January 30 at 6:30pm, indulge in four-courses of Asian-infused delicacies prepared by visiting Executive Chef Jacky Fan from The Westin Beijing Financial Street and H Lounge Executive Chef, Alex Mok. Savour sumptuous dishes prepared two-ways with this unique Vancouver meets Beijing collaboration. Each creation is complemented by a thoughtful wine pairing.
Let us transport you to another time and place with global cuisine and a dash of nostalgia at H tasting Lounge. Inspired by one of the most successful men of his time, H Lounge brings Howard Hughes’ legacy to life through contemporary cuisine, curated cocktails, and select wine offerings inspired by the pioneer in early aviation’s infamous world tour.

About Chef Alex Mok
With extensive culinary experience in some of Vancouver’s renowned kitchens, Chef Alex Mok brings a diverse blend of experiences and international flavours to The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver’s contemporary lobby lounge.
Chef Alex Mok has designed menu concepts for Vancouver’s The French Table and Yaletown’s Cache Bistro, and implemented the menu at H Tasting Lounge, featuring global cuisine inspired by Howard Hughes’ world tour. Though Chef Mok is passionate about creating exotic dishes, he loves sourcing locally from the West Coast, with fresh ingredients like sea urchin and spot prawns.
Much of Chef Mok’s talent and skills were cultivated under the mentorship of the King of Belgium’s Head Chef, who taught him the French technique that Mok has since developed. He has held positions as Commis Chef at Fairmont Waterfront and The Westin Grand hotels, and most recently as Executive Chef at Boathouse Restaurant. Chef Mok has appeared on cooking segments for Fairchild TV in addition to TVB and Now TV.
About Chef Jiuxin Fan
With 25 years of extensive culinary experience in some of the most renowned kitchens in China, Chef Jiuxin brings his knowledge of Chinese and Cantonese cuisines to The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver on January 30. Chef Jiuxin is passionate about creating nourishing, healthful dishes, which he does both on the job at The Westin Beijing and in his own kitchen.
As Executive Chinese Chef, Chef Jiuxin is responsible for handling daily restaurant and banquet function operations. He looks forward to creating dishes that infuse flavours unique to Beijing during an unforgettable evening.
