The FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ is coming to Canada this summer and Vancouver will host nine matches at BC Place Stadium, including the Final Match on 5 July. Vancouver is one of six Official Host Cities, joining Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal and Moncton in staging the largest women’s sporting event in the world. Vancouver's matches will take place in BC Place Stadium - home of the Vancouver Whitecaps and BC Lions - which features a retractable roof (the largest of its kind in the world); FIFA-certified, two-star turf; upgraded seating and suites; and the second-largest video-board in North America.
Running June 6 to July 5, the FIFA Women's World Cup™ will be Canada's first coast-to-coast sporting event. Twenty-four national teams will vie for the trophy, including Canada’s Women’s National Team, who were bronze medalists at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Millions of viewers worldwide are expected to tune in to the Final Match, once again shining the spotlight on Vancouver as a world-class sporting destination.
