"This is the first year I became aware of, and participated in, Dine Out Vancouver," he said. "I love food, and I can't wait to experience all that these restaurants have to offer."

Dine Out's 10th anniversary proved to be the best year yet for Canada's largest restaurant festival. The numbers tell the story:

According to Rick Antonson, Tourism Vancouver's president and CEO, the 2012 Dine Out Vancouver Festival not only met industry expectations but exceeded them. "We set quite a few records during this year's Dine Out, and the festival was extremely well received by the public and our industry partners," he said. "We're well on the way to achieving our goal of turning Dine Out Vancouver into one of the world's foremost culinary festivals."
Several events sold out quickly during this year's Dine Out, including Plated and Paired at the Public Market; the Secret Supper Soirée; Pop Up Social Feed at Save On Meats; Pop Up Salsa; and two Act I, Eat 1 dinner-and-a-show pairings in collaboration with the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival. One of the festival's most successful events was the brand-new Street Food City, which saw more than 3,500 locals and visitors congregate over three days at the Vancouver Art Gallery to sample from some of Vancouver's top food carts. Other culinary highlights included Dine Academy cooking classes, Salt & Pepper's various foodie experiences and Kronenbourg 1664's Brasserie Mystère.
