Located in West Vancouver, Cypress Mountain was the Official Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Venue for the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games. A 30-minute drive from downtown Vancouver, Cypress provides skiers, riders and sliders with the most vertical drop and most terrain of the city’s three local mountains. It’s the furthest west of the three, so make sure you look up when you’re heading down a run and take in the incredible views of Howe Sound, the Gulf Islands, and Vancouver Island.
Cypress has 52 downhill winter skiing and riding runs accessed by 6 chair lifts, including a magic carpet lift in the kids’ camp area. In addition to downhill, Cypress offers 19 kilometres (12 miles) of track-set cross country trails, snowshoeing tours around historic Hollyburn Lodge built in 1926, and a very popular snow-tubing park.
