Current Positions:

Distribution Assistant
Part-Time

Tourism Vancouver is seeking part-time a Distribution Assistant to join the Corporate Services team. Hours can be flexible: Monday to Friday, 5-6 hours per day OR 3 days per week plus vacation coverage.

Working with Coordinator, Distribution Services, the responsibilities include assisting in maintaining an accurate inventory of Tourism Vancouver’s publications and collateral; maintaining accurate Tourism Vancouver member and partner inventory and fulfilling visitor, member and departmental requests in a timely and accurate manner.

The position is also responsible for some mail and courier related functions.

If you have previous shipping and receiving experience, have the ability to lift and move heavy objects (i.e. parcels, boxes, dolly etc.); describe yourself as a team player, are well organized, dedicated to customer service excellence, able to multi-task and possess strong technology skills, please send your cover letter and resume to careers@tourismvancouver.com.

Intermediate Accountant

Tourism Vancouver is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join the Corporate Services team.

Reporting to the Controller, the Intermediate Accountant will assist the Controller in overseeing the day to day accounting activities of the Finance department to ensure the daily accounting and financial processes are accomplished in a timely and accurate manner.

The ideal candidate will have 2 – 4 years of experience in a similar role including at least two years working experience in a supervisory capacity with strong leadership skills and must have achieved higher levels of a professional accounting program.

Manager, Events Tourism

It’s an exciting time for Destination Development at Tourism Vancouver and we are hiring for a new position, Manager, Events Tourism.

Events Tourism is one aspect of creating memorable experiences for visitors, as well as enhancing residents’ quality of life and well-being. Events – whether it be sporting, cultural or one-of-a-kind - are a very important part of a destination’s business mix. They can be a platform for promoting Vancouver’s brand and creating exposure for the destination as well as stimulating year-round visitation, and repeat visitors recommending Vancouver as a must-visit to family and friends.

One of the Tourism Vancouver’s strategic goals is to generate “24 events” and this strategic focus on major events will drive increased visitation and hotel room attendees while generating high levels of direct visitor spending and positive economic impact for the destination.

We are looking for a Manager, Events Tourism to be responsible for the planning and management of all aspects of the Events Tourism portfolio. The Manager will develop and execute the Events Tourism program based on research findings and collaboration opportunities. Partnerships, collaboration, and capital support are key to attract, develop, and sustain events to Vancouver and build year-round demand.

The strategic direction of the Events Tourism portfolio is planned in consultation with Tourism Vancouver’s Director, Destination Development. The Manager will work closely with internal departments – marketing, marketing services, communications and media relations.

Membership Specialist, Destination Experiences & Initiatives

Tourism Vancouver is hiring for two new positions! This is an exciting time for the Membership team and for the tourism industry as we celebrate our third consecutive record year.

Tourism Vancouver is a member-based organization with close to 1000 members who contribute every day to the visitor experience and the success of our destination. The past eight months, Tourism Vancouver’s Membership Department has led a review of our membership model. The result is an upgraded strategic new membership proposition that will propel our destination to greater heights.

The Membership Department has been restructured to reflect the outcome of the review and we are excited to showcase our new membership model that will support and engage our Members for continued success.

As a result of this process, we are unveiling two new positions. They include the Membership Specialist, Destination Experiences & Initiatives; responsible for experiential members (Sightseeing, Attractions, etc.) along with programs such as the Destination Experience Pass, Calendar of Events and Dine Out Vancouver Festival Events coordination, and the Membership Specialist, Destination Services and Products; responsible for services members (accommodations, restaurants etc.) along with product sales such as brochure racking, additional listings, Dine Out Vancouver restaurant and hotel participation and more.  Please refer to the full job descriptions.

Visitor Experience Specialist

Tourism Vancouver is accepting applications for part time summer Visitor Experience Specialists to represent tourism products and services from all industry sectors within various geographic regions of British Columbia (accommodation, attractions, dining, retail, transportation, and others).  This role will maximize the economic benefits of tourism through promoting tourism products and services and by encouraging visitors to stay longer. Visitor Experience Specialists will provide outstanding customer service and sales to the visitors of Vancouver.  

The successful applicants must possess previous customer service experience and a strong desire to market the city of Vancouver to travellers from across the world. Previous sales experience is preferred.  A second language would be an asset.  The positions may start as early as April 2017.
