» Visa Dine Out for a Year Contest Rules and Regulations

The Visa Dine Out For A Year contest (the "contest"), sponsored by Visa Canada and The Greater Vancouver Convention and Visitors Bureau ("Tourism Vancouver") (together the "Sponsors") commences at 12:01am ("PST") on January 14, 2009 and concludes 11:59pm ("PST") on February 1, 2009 (the "contest period").

How To Enter:

a. Purchase Entry: Visit any participating Dine Out Vancouver restaurant in Metro Vancouver during the contest period. Participating restaurants will be listed on the website at www.tourismvancouver.com (each a "participating restaurant"). A Visa Dine Out For A Year contest ballot (the "ballot") will be provided to you when you order one of the special three-course dinners priced at either $18, $28 or $38 per meal (the "Promotional Meal") at a participating restaurant and pay the full value of your bill with your Visa ® card (the "Qualifying Purchase"). You will receive one ballot per Promotional Meal ordered and paid for with a Visa card during the Contest Period. The ballot will provide you with information required for entry. To qualify for the grand prize, you must complete the entry form in full including the name of the restaurant and the name of your server. To enter, you must complete and submit the ballot at a participating restaurant no late than 11:59pm on February 1, 2009.

b. No Purchase Method of Entry: A ballot may also be obtained by printing your full legal name, residential address, age, and telephone number and a 100 word or more handwritten essay on the "Value of having a Visa card" on a 3" x 5" piece of paper and mailing it to the Visa Dine Out For A Year contest, Tourism Vancouver, Suite 210 - 200 Burrard Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada V6C 3L6. Limit of one no purchase entry per person per envelope per day. No mechanical or facsimile reproductions will be accepted as no purchase entries. On entry per envelope. No purchase entries must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2009. Visa cardholders must include the first 8 digits of their Visa account number for verification purposes.

All ballots, in-person and no purchase entries (collectively "Entries" or an "Entry") become the property of the Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Eligibility: The contest is open to individuals who reside in British Columbia and are at least 19 years of age on January 14, 2009 and who are the primary holders of a Visa card issued by a Canadian financial institution ("FI") as of January 14, 2009 that is open and in good standing at the time of verification for the contest (as reflected in the records of his/her Visa issuing FI, excluding Visa corporate, purchasing or prepaid cards). The contest is not open to employees of: Tourism Vancouver; Visa Canada or its licensed financial institutions; employees of Participating Restaurants; their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising promotional agencies, the fulfillment house, the independent contest judging organization, or members of those persons; respective immediate families, or anyone with whom any of those persons are domiciled.

Prize:

a. Grand Prize: There is one (1) Grand Prize available to be awarded consisting of 52 gift certificates redeemable for meal purchases at the Participating Restaurants valid from March 1, 2009 to February 28, 2010. There will be a combination of $50, $75 and $100 gift certificates. The total value of the prize is $3900 CDN (15 x $50, 22 x $75 and 15 x $100).

b. Second Prizes: There are five (5) second prizes available to be awarded each consisting of a Tickets Tonight Gift Certificate valued at $100 CDN for a total value of $500 CDN. Each gift certificate is valid from March 1, 2009 to February 28, 2010 and may be redeemed for full-price advanced ticket sales and/or half-priced same day sales of tickets to performing arts, concerts, sporting and festival events. Gift certificates must be redeemed in-person at the Tickets Tonight booth located in the Tourism Vancouver's Visitor Centre at 200 Burrard Street, downtown Vancouver or the Satellite Visitor Centre at the Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza on Robson Street.

All prizes are subject to all conditions, restrictions, expiry dates, requirements and regulations noted on the gift certificates and applicable at the time of delivery and use. Prizes are non-transferable, are not convertible to cash, and must be accepted as awarded.

Prize Drawing: A random draw for all prizes will be made by Tourism Vancouver in Vancouver, British Columbia on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 10:00am PST from all eligible Entries received during the contest period (each Entry selected is a "selected entrant").

Odds: The odds of winning a prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period.

Winner Notification: Between February 18, 2009 and February 25 2009, Tourism Vancouver will contact the selected entrants with a prize notification package by registered mail or courier at the address provided on their entry. The Sponsors will not engage in correspondence regarding the contest or with any person other than the selected entrants.

In order to win the grand prize or any second prize, each selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, arithmetical, skill-testing question and sign and return a standard declaration and release form within 23 days from the time the prize notification is postmarked as having been sent. The grand prize or any second prize will be forfeited and available o be awarded to an alternate selected entrant if the prize notification is returned as non-deliverable if the skill-testing question is incorrectly answered, or if the declaration and release form is not returned within 23 days from the time the prize notification package is postmarked as having been sent. In the event the alternate selected entrant does not answer the skill testing question correctly, return the required documentation within 23 days (following the procedures set forth above), or the skill testing question is incorrectly answered, or if the prize notification is returned as non-deliverable, the prize will be forfeited and not awarded to any further alternates.

Additional Terms: By participating in the contest, entrants accept and agree to: a) these Official contest Rules and the decisions of the judges and the Sponsors regarding any aspect of the contest, which shall be final and binding in all respects; and b) release, discharge, and hold harmless Tourism Vancouver, Visa Canada and its respective licensed financial institutions, Visa International and its member financial institutions, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, and employees, including the advertising or promotional agencies and the independent contest judging organization, from any liability, claims, or damages arising out of their participation in the contest and the acceptance or use, misuse, or possession of any prize. By accepting a prize, winners agree to the Sponsors' and its designees' use of their names and/or photographs for advertising and publicity purposes without compensation.

Use of Information: By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the Sponsors' and their promotional agencies, contest administrator, and independent judging organization's storing and using the entrant's personal information provided on the Entry for the administration of the Contest in accordance with these Official Contest Rules and with Visa Canada's privacy policy found at www.visa.ca/en/common/privacy.cfm and the privacy policy of Tourism Vancouver at www.tourismvancouver.com/visitors/privacy. The Sponsors will not otherwise sell or disclose entrants' personal information.

Limitation of Liability: The Sponsors and the Participating Restaurants, and each of their respective affiliated and associated persons and entities, are not responsible or liable, jointly or severally, for any of the following: damaged, destroyed, lost, late, incomplete, illegible, incorrectly addressed or misdirected entries, regardless of the cause; failure for any reason whatsoever of selected entrants to receive prize notification packages; or malfunctions or errors that may occur, regardless of the cause. The Sponsors reserve the right to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of the Contest as determined by the Sponsors in their sole discretion. The Sponsors assume no responsibility for any failure of the Website at tourismvancouver.com during the Contest, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment software, failure of any Entry to be received by the Sponsor. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

Winner Confirmation: To receive a list of the names of the winners, send a self-addressed, postage-paid return envelope by March 31, 2009 to Tourism Vancouver, Suite 210 - 200 Burrard Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada V6C 3L6.
