» Tourism Vancouver Volunteer Program - Qualifications
- Be a resident of Greater Vancouver for at least two years AND be a Canadian citizen, Permanent resident or have a work permit;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (strong listening skills, sales skills, enthusiastic and friendly);
- Team oriented;
- Extensive knowledge of British Columbia with an emphasis on Greater Vancouver (e.g. attractions, hotels, tours, streets) and a commitment to on-going learning;
- Willingness to promote tourism products and services (ask for the sale);
- Fluent in English, second language a definite asset;
- Comfortable working in a busy, professional work environment;
- Basic understanding of standard office equipment (e.g. photocopy machines and computers); and
- Willingness to complete the training program followed by at least a one-year commitment
