Itinerary Overview

Experience a perfect balance between learning about the local arts and tasting some of the best local foodspecialties and B.C. wines.

Day 1 - Walking Tour: Downtown Galleries & Studios

  • Take a walking tour of downtown galleries and private studios to discover a wide array of art includingInuit, First Nations and contemporary pieces. Include stops at the following galleries: Marion Scott Gallery, Rendez-Vous Art Gallery, Appleton Galleries and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
  • For lunch, try one of the nearby bistros.
  • The afternoon begins in Gastown and Yaletown with an overview of First Nations art and a visit to uniquegalleries like Hills Native Art and Coastal Peoples Fine Art.
  • During the Yaletown visit, enjoy a visit to the trendy market near the waterfront.
  • Head to Stanley Park for dinner in an authentic West Coast restaurant, The Fish House in Stanley Park, to be taken on a culinary journey with the award-winning chef Karen Barnaby

Day 2 - From Anthropology to Local Artists on Granville Island

  • Start the day at U.B.C. Museum of Anthropology, the world-renowned museum on the scenic grounds ofThe University of British Columbia. Learn about the culture of First Nations' peoples through unique artifacts and priceless collections.
  • Next, a scenic transfer to Granville Island is in order for a real taste of the local lifestyle. Tour the island to discover artists specializing in glass blowing, ceramics, silk paintings, weaving and handcrafted jewelry making.
  • Have lunch at Bridges Restaurant, Bistro & Pub for a feast of local seafood.
  • Stroll along South Granville Street and shop in the many antique shops and galleries.
  • Dine at West Restaurant & Bar, one of Vancouver's top restaurants, on South Granville. Meet the chef and the sommelier while enjoying the best of West Coast cuisine.
  • End the evening with a live theatre performance at the nearby Stanley Theatre.
