Day 1 - Vancouver's Top First Nations Attractions

  • Begin the day with a First Nations guide from West Coast Sightseeing taking visitors on a city orientation tour. Discover unique sites and learn about the rich First Nations history.
  • Depart from the hotel and transfer to the historical part of the city, Gastown, which is considered to be the birth place of Vancouver.
  • Then, it's off to Stanley Park and the Totem Poles. Take a moment to take in the beautiful view of the city prior to exploring these unique structures full of cultural and spiritual significance. Each pole conveys a unique family history.
  • Optional: visit the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre to learn about the marine life of the Pacific Coast.
  • Transfer to the world-renowned U.B.C. Museum of Anthropology on the grounds of the University of British Columbia.
  • Enjoy a West Coast lunch at Watermark on Kits Beach with a spectacular view.
  • Spend a leisurely afternoon discovering and shopping in the various First Nations Art Galleries located throughout downtown Vancouver.
  • Optional: presentation on art of the Coastal Peoples at the Coastal Peoples Fine Arts Gallery in Yaletown.

Day 2 - North Shore Authentic Discovery and Adventure Tour

  • Depart for a tour of the key First Nations sites in North Vancouver before transferring to Deep Cove for the paddle adventure of a lifetime.
  • A First Nations guide from Landsea Tours takes visitors to explore an authentic Long House on the Capilano Reserve. A traditional light meal and tea will be available on-site. Visitors will also visit St. Paul's Mission Church on the Eslah7an Reserve and local gift shops to see the artwork of native artisans.
  • Following this visit, the afternoon will be spent on the water with a two-hour paddle in Deep Cove with Takaya Tours. Live the authentic First Nations experience of water travel in traditional ocean-going canoes and sea kayaks. Snacks will be provided. Experience traditional songs and legends of the area while learning about the cultural history of Indian Arm and Burrard Inlet.
  • Transfer to Grouse Mountain for a tour and dinner at the popular Hiwus Feast House (season dependent). Optional: Visit Capilano Suspension Bridge to see First Nations totem poles and carvers at work.
