CIRQUE DU SOLEIL RETURNS TO VANCOUVER IN JUNE
Famed Canadian circus Cirque du Soleil has announced their return to Vancouver with the production Corteo. Italian for "cortege", the story of Corteo takes place in the imagination of a clown. Juxtaposing large and small, the ridiculous and the tragic, the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, Corteo brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat and the audience is plunged into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity. Corteo opens in Vancouver on June 12.

FOUR SEASONS VANCOUVER UNVEILS YEW RESTAURANT + BAR
After months of renovations, the Four Seasons Vancouver has put the finishing touches on their brand new restaurant. Yew Restaurant + Bar integrates sophisticated West Coast design and Pacific cuisine. Named for the rare indigenous Pacific Yew tree, the room features lofty 20-foot ceilings, wood-panelled walls and a floor-to-ceiling sandstone fireplace, capturing the essence of British Columbia's natural environment. The contemporary "raw bar" features stacked alder wood with granite surfaces, while the communal 10-person table is a slab of hand-hewn western maple enclosed in a glass, sky-lit, private dining room. The menu, created by executive chef Rafael Gonzalez, includes ingredients from the entire Pacific region. The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails, and is the first stage of a $5.3 million renovation of the hotel property.

NON-STOP VANCOUVER-DELHI FLIGHT ON THE HORIZON
Kingfisher Airlines has committed to operating a new non-stop Delhi to Vancouver flight as soon as possible. The news was announced by British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell on a recent trip to Asia. The non-stop service will reduce travel time between the two cities from approximately 25 hours to 15 hours. The new flight will help establish Vancouver's gateway status in India - one of the world's fastest growing economies. In 2006, approximately 21,621 visitors came to Metro Vancouver from India, an increase of 11 per cent over 2005.
