LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!
What better way to celebrate the season than high up in the mountain air enjoying some fun winter sports? Within 20 minutes of downtown Vancouver, you can be up on one of the three North Shore mountains: Cypress, Grouse or Seymour.

Make Fresh Tracks at Cypress
Round up the family and head to Cypress Mountain for some skiing or boarding and make your first tracks of the season. Cypress will be home to the 2010 Olympic freestyle skiing (moguls and aerials) as well as snowboarding (half pipe and parallel giant slalom), so be sure to visit this world-class alpine destination and see for yourself where Olympic athletes will compete for gold.

Skate Circles at Grouse
There's no better way to experience winter than skating in the fresh mountain air on a smooth outdoor ice skating rink high above the city. So grab your skates (or rent them there) and go for a glide on Grouse Mountain's 8,000 square foot ice skating pond - the only one of its kind on the west coast. Head up for a romantic evening for two or a fun-filled day with the kids. During weekends in December, take advantage of tips and techniques from professional ice skaters. The pond is just a few steps from the warmth of the Peak Chalet.

Night Magic at Mount Seymour
If you can walk, you can snowshoe. Mount Seymour offers exciting snowshoe packages each winter. During their "Full Moon" tours, head out on the mountain under the stars. On Saturdays, try out "Night Magic" - a night of snowshoeing and fondue. Imagine snowshoeing under the stars and discovering, in amongst some candlelight, a chocolate fondue.
