The Project

It's no wonder Vancouver is in high demand for meeting and convention business. Vancouver's commitment to service, spectacular beauty, year round activities and incredible pre and post convention options bring new events each year, and keep past event planners coming back.

Demand has consistently risen for meeting and convention space in Vancouver. In the past growth has meant turning away convention business. To address need, and in preparation for hosting the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, a truly exciting Convention Centre expansion project took place!

Open in April 2009, the Vancouver Convention Centre expansion increased the meeting, exhibit and function space total to almost 500,000 square feet (45,690 square meters). The new West facility added close to 340,000 square feet (32,000 square meters) of space adjacent to the current East centre. Sitting on the water's edge by the beautiful Pacific, breath-taking views of ocean and mountains are the backdrop to all events. The new West centre has seamless connection to the East centre and offers additional retail and parking space to be enjoyed by visitors and locals alike.

But don't worry about your delegates getting too distracted - the new West facility offers outstanding technical, telecommunication, and most importantly, personal services for meetings and conferences of all sizes. Visit Centre Designs for additional details on exhibit spaces and floor plans.
