From Winter to Summer Sports, Vancouver has a wide variety of excellent sport facilities which cater to all types and levels sport events. Some of the facilities include:

BC Place Stadium

Canada's largest multi-purpose sports, exhibition and entertainment facility can accommodate 60,000 with exhibit space from 75,000 to 247,000 sq ft. This air-supported domed stadium is home to the CFL BC Lions Football team and has played host to a variety of indoor sporting events. BC Place will be the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

General Motors Place

Situated in the heart of Vancouver's entertainment district, General Motors Place (GM Place) is one of the most active entertainment venues in North America. It's home to the Vancouver Canucks NHL Hockey team and the Hockey Canada Centre of Excellence, and will be the primary hockey venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Maximum Capacity: 20,000; Square Footage: 24,000.

Pacific National Exhibition

A sports and entertainment complex offering a variety of venues including The Pacific Coliseum which accommodates 15,713 in permanent seating with provision for 2,000 temporary seats on the floor for concerts and spectator sports and the 3,230 seat Agrodome. The PNE is home to the Vancouver Giants WHL Hockey team and will be the host venue for figure skating and short-track speed skating for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

University of British Columbia

Only 30 minutes from the heart of downtown Vancouver, the University of British Columbia's recreation facilities such as the Aquatic Centre, Thunderbird Winter Sports Centre, War Memorial Gym and Student Recreation Centre are ideal for athletic events.

Simon Fraser University

Simon Fraser University's Chancellor's Gymnasium Complex houses the East and West Gymnasiums and Aquatic Centre. The university also offers access to a 400 meter track, 2 grass fields, a softball field and an all weather field.

North Shore Mountains

While Greater Vancouver's three local mountains - Cypress, Grouse and Seymour - have some of the best downhill and cross-country ski facilities in North America, they also provide an endless playground for outdoor activities all year round. Just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver, the mountains regularly host World Cup events, including the Tissot-UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. Cypress Mountain will be the venue for the Snowboarding and Freestyle Skiing competitions during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Softball City is a premier Sports and Entertainment complex consisting of four championship caliber diamonds, surrounding a 120 seat fully licensed restaurant with 200 seat outdoor patio. It is nestled among 27 beautiful acres of park.

Swangard Stadium

Swangard Stadium is home to Vancouver Whitecaps Soccer Club and is a full-service track and field facility. With towering fir trees to the east and a great view of the mountains to the north, Swangard offers a fantastic backdrop for a variety of outdoor sports . Maximum Capacity: 8000.

Burnaby Lake Sports Complex

The Burnaby Lake Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art facility boasting three main lighted artificial grass fields (with two additional planned) and a modern clubhouse.

CanLan Ice Sports - Burnaby 8 Rinks

This massive complex houses 8 rinks and offers a great viewing /dining area from which you can see ALL eight rinks, including viewing for up to 1000 on the feature rink.
