Here's What Our Team Can Do For You

Make Tourism Vancouver your first point of contact for a successful sport event. Our “Vancouver's Service Edge” promise helps you streamline your efforts, saving valuable time and ensuring that you deliver an unsurpassed sport experience in Vancouver. Below are just some of the ways in which our team can help.

Bid Assistance and Site Selection

If you’re entering the bid process, our team will coordinate site inspections and organize bid presentation packages detailing the advantages of selecting Vancouver as your sport event destination. Our team will also outline the opportunities for pre- and post-event travel.

Facilities and Accommodation Bookings

Tourism Vancouver’s team will help you secure both the venues for your sporting event, and the guestrooms appropriate to your needs. Our Request for Proposals (RFP) distribution system is in place to ensure that we offer you the best match for your event or meeting.

Sport Promotion

Tourism Vancouver will support and service your sporting event or meeting. For large events, we offer on-site promotion or attendance-building at the event prior to the one to be held in Vancouver. Our team offers marketing materials and presence on our website to promote and build excitement for your event.

Sport Event Tools

Tourism Vancouver has access to state-of-the-art technology through the partnerships with Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA), and Sport Web. Some of the tools we can help you access include:

  • Business Plan Template for staging a sporting event
  • STEAM - Sport Tourism Economic Assessment Model

Hosting BC

Hosting BC is a grant program for organizations interested in staging national and international sport events in British Columbia. Tourism Vancouver can assist you with your application for funding.

Charitable Receipting

The National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF) is a fund of the Canadian Council of Provincial and Territorial Sports Federation (CCTSF) Inc. In turn, the CCPTSF is a Registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association with a tax number for the purpose of producing tax-deductible donation receipts. Sport BC is the NSTF administrator and is pleased to make this service available for sports events. Click here to access the NSTF Donor Letter.

Liaison with Local Suppliers

The Tourism Vancouver team can connect you with all the local suppliers you need for your event, including destination management companies and professional conference organizers. Their experience and creativity will ensure the success of your program.

Housing Services

Tourism Vancouver's preferred housing service providers – MCI Vancouver and Experient are two of the best in the business. They have dedicated, experienced teams equipped with the most advanced computer reservation systems for accommodation block management.
