The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre offers a downtown waterfront location with a dramatic mountain backdrop. The seamlessly-connected East and West buildings offer a combined total of 43,340 sq. m. (466,500 sq. ft.) of flexible meeting, exhibition, ballroom and plenary space. With a strong sustainability mandate, unparalleled technical service and culinary excellence, this facility can play host to everything from five-star galas and international conferences, through to tradeshows and intimate round-tables.
Home to two of Vancouver’s professional sports teams, British Columbia's largest multi-purpose sports, exhibition and entertainment facility features the world's largest retractable roof and can accommodate up to 54,500 spectators in stadium seats, 12,000 for a stand-up reception, or 7,000 diners.
In the heart of Vancouver's entertainment district, Rogers Arena is home to the NHL's Vancouver Canucks, as well as an endless list of concerts and events. The venue of choice for celebrity performances, the arena can accommodate up to 18,000, while the arena floor and function rooms can host anything from sporting events through to gala dinners for 1,000.
University of British Columbia
Just west of downtown, the University of British Columbia offers venues from the 50-person, UN-style council chambers room and 600-person seated gala dinner ballroom in The Nest, through to the spectacular Chan Centre for the Performing Arts with its 1,185 seat concert hall, and the Museum of Anthropology accommodating events for up to 1,000 guests. The brand new Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre at the centre of the campus offers a complete range of meeting and event space options including the 436 sq. m. (4,700 sq. ft.), light-filled celebration space.
Off campus, the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse in Richmond is a floating event space on the Fraser River, boasting modern design and the ability to host up to 150 guests for a sit down dinner. Along with event spaces, UBC also offers accommodation options for housing your delegates.
Simon Fraser University
Through SFU Meeting Event and Conference Services, the university offers a unique range of meeting options. Downtown facilities include the 154-person, concentrically-tiered symposium at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue; the Segal Centre, a historic building with flexible meeting and event space for groups up to 300; the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts with a 350-seat theatre, and 204 sq. m. (2,200 sq. ft.) pre-event space; and the Harbour Centre campus with meeting, classroom, reception and laboratory space including a 223 sq. m. (2,400 sq. ft.) banquet space overlooking the North Shore mountains.
Located in downtown’s Stanley Park, the Vancouver Rowing Club offers unique spaces for events in a 1911 heritage building. With some of the best views in the city, the club’s various rooms can accommodate up to 185 people for a cocktail reception.
Right above False Creek, on the downtown peninsula, this new event space offers floor-to-ceiling windows with a spectacular view of the water, Granville Island, docks and the sunset. Waterview is a 302 sq. m. (3,250 sq. ft.) modern venue that can accommodate up to 220 guests for a sit-down dinner.
