It's true that you can ski in the morning and hit the beach in the afternoon here - although it can make for a tiring day out. And even if you prefer to sit around and watch, Vancouver is a great destination for travelling sports fans. The city is home to an NHL hockey team, as well as professional football, soccer and baseball teams. This deep heritage of outdoor attractions and professional sports venues is one of the reasons why the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is coming to town in 2010.
