Lycra-Free Fun on Local Hills

Never mind those skintight racing suits and sleek Olympic bobsleds. Visitors looking for some super-fast sliding need only pull on their warm jackets and gloves and head for the snowtube parks on Vancouver’s North Shore mountains.

Both Cypress Mountain Tubing Park and Mount Seymour Enquist SnowTube Park offer specially designed inner tubes, a variety of icy chutes and towropes that pull riders and their tubes to the tops of the hills.

Visitors with their own toboggans (or those who purchase an inexpensive Krazy Karpet on-site) can enjoy Mount Seymour’s Toboggan Park or, when the snow falls in the city, join locals on the slopes of Queen Elizabeth Park. The park sits at Vancouver’s highest point and offers innumerable sliding runs plus killer views of the surrounding cityscape.
