Discover Vancouver's dirty history with Forbidden Vancouver. Now staging walking tours Lost Souls of Gastown, Prohibition City, and special event Secrets of the Penthouse. The company was established in 2012 by Founder and Chief Storyteller, Will Woods. After an early mid-life crisis, Will left his desk job to take his twin passions of theatre and history out onto the streets of Vancouver. The company now has 10 guides, and a team of writers and researchers digging up the dirt on Vancouver's dirty history. If your idea of adventure is following your guide down lamp lit alleyways, back to a world of illegal booze, opium dens, and unsolved murders, then you'll love Forbidden Vancouver.
Tours meet at Cathedral Square, across from the Holy Rosary Cathedral at the corner of Dunsmuir and Richards Streets. They end in Maple Tree Square, the heart of Gastown’s nightlife, with ample options for food and drink.
Our regular tour season runs from April until the end of October. In addition to our regularly scheduled offerings, we can stage private tours to suit your guests’ needs. Our private tours have a minimum group size of four people, though with our roster of eight storytellers, we can accommodate groups as large as 80 people. For more information about our tour offerings and private tour options, visit www.forbiddenvancouver.ca, email Founder and Chief Storyteller Will Woods at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 604-839-3126.
