Wild Whales Vancouver is situated on Granville Island, a 5-10 minute taxi ride from most downtown hotels. The # 50 bus will drop you off at the entrance to the Island or Granville Island Ferries and Aquabus will shuttle you across from various departure points along the seawall directly to Granville Island.
We aspire to be the best whale watching company in the area by focusing our efforts on training staff, educating our guests and being respectful to all animals that we encounter. Our naturalists are passionate about their work and tireless in communicating ways in which we all can help to foster a healthier eco system. Our captains are seasoned professionals, coming from various other commercial marine enterprises. Our office staff are professional, courteous and go above and beyond to be helpful in all aspects of our clients needs. We only schedule one trip a day per vessel which promotes wildlife encounters that are leisurely and informative.
Both of our vessels are Transport Canada inspected and carry the latest in marine navigation, communication and safety equipment. Come aboard the 22 passenger 'Pod Pilot' where you will be fitted into full length anti-exposure suits and a thrilling adventure across the Gulf of Georgia. You are not confined to your seat but have the freedom to move about from bow to stern. The 23 passenger covered vessel, the 'Quick Change II', has windows at every seat, that open, and an exposed stern section for unobstructed viewing. Both vessels have fully operational washrooms.
We look for both the resident and transient orca pods. Being a member of a large whale watching network greatly enhances our chances of seeing whales. There are times when they are beyond our range or just can't be found. If this is the case we invite you to come aboard on another trip, free of charge, at a time of your choosing (space permitting). There is no time limit or expiry on this offer.
