At Strathcona Park Lodge, on the edge of the vast wilderness of Strathcona Park, the possibilities for breathing in the restorative powers of nature are as many as the adventure options. Overlooking the shores of Upper Campbell Lake and a procession of snow-capped peaks, our accommodations consist of an eclectic collection of log and timber-framed chalets rooms and waterfront cottages with kitchens. We have 25 guides who love to share their passion for outdoor adventures.
Dining - three sumptuous meals featuring West Coast Cuisine are served each day as well as snacks and beverages. Dine in the casual Whale Room or Myrna's. Both serve local food, and our chefs also cater to gluten free, dairy free, heart smart and vegan diets.
Adventure Unlimited - Lodge based adventures for those who want to come back to a comfortable home base.
Clients choose their kind of adventure that marries their interests and abilities with their desire for challenge and play. Try everything or focus on one or two skills/activities. Plan in advance or decide day-to-day with their guide (see www.strathcona.bc.ca for sample 4 and 7 day schedules). Choose any dates and any of these adventure options: rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, white water, backpacking, overnight trips (kayaking, canoeing, hiking) survival skills, orienteering, ropes course & zip line, waterfall viewing, wildlife viewing, camp fire, bog walk.
Alpine and Ocean Custom Adventures:
Kayaking Johnstone Strait - the Strait is famous for its resident population of Orca whales and abundant marine life.
Kayaking Nootka Sound - steeped in history and legend, the Sound supports an incredibly lush ecosystem, winding fjords, isloated sandy beaches, and abundant humpback whales.
Hiking Strathcona's Alpine - explore BC's oldest provincial park celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2011. Pristine alpine lakes, giant old growth trees, flower filled alpine meadows, and glaciers.
