In operation since November of 2008, ToursByLocals connects travelers with knowledgeable local guides. The company has 456 guides located in 48 countries and offering over 856 private tours.


The tour guides on ToursByLocals are mostly individuals who determine what they'll offer, when they'll work and how much they'll charge. We also work with local tour providers who have committed to treating their tour guides equitably. Each local has been carefully selected so that you can rely on their knowledge and expertise.


The people who use ToursByLocals to purchase tours are travelers, not tourists. They are looking for an authentic, local experience and want to make sure that the travel dollars they spend benefit the local people.


In our home base of Vancouver, we have 13 local guides who have put together 36 tour ‘suggestions’. The tours offered are wide ranging and focus on the things Vancouver is famous for – our spectacular west coast environment and our culture. Some tours are suitable for first time visitors, while others will be of interest even if you’ve been here many times.
